Shape projects with the community, so people see their input in what gets built

For municipalities, foundations, cultural organizations, and cross-sector partnerships that need to hear from residents. I design the invitation, facilitate with care, and make sure people see how their input gets used.

Community engagement, facilitation, and cultural programming

Who it's for

Municipalities, nonprofits, foundations, cultural organizations, and cross-sector partnerships that need to hear from residents or make room for dialogue.

What it solves

A project needs public trust, local knowledge, shared ownership, or a way to bring people with different experiences into a useful conversation and a common next step.

What you get

  • Community listening and engagement plans
  • Facilitated meetings and retreats
  • Cross-sector convenings
  • Event and cultural program design
  • Storytelling and arts-based learning
  • Public-facing materials
  • A record of themes, decisions, and next steps

How an engagement runs

We clarify who needs to be part of the conversation, what we need to learn, and how participants will see their input used. I help design the invitation and the format, facilitate with care, and support the move from conversation to action. Work can be on site, remote, event-based, or part of a longer initiative.

    Coatesville Parks and Recreation Commission

    People. Programs. Parks.

As commission chair, I helped build a free, year-round calendar of programs and events in Coatesville's parks, and wrote a strategic plan framework for the City's parks system. Every activity is free, welcoming, and built around families.

Year-roundfree programs, community events, and a completed Palmer Park renovation

    What I did
Supported the commission's community programming and wrote its proposal, People. Programs. Parks., covering master planning, a coordinated program calendar, youth and resident engagement, a park prioritization scorecard, partnership and funding pathways, and a 30/60/90-day action agenda.
    Result
A free, year-round program and event framework linking local instructors and providers with public spaces, the completed Palmer Park renovation, and a strategic plan framework for City consideration.

Questions

Before we talk

More questions about working together

We're a municipality. Is this a fit for us?

Yes. I work with municipalities, nonprofits, foundations, and cross-sector partnerships, and I chair Coatesville's Parks and Recreation Commission, so I know how public projects move.

How will residents see that their input mattered?

We decide that before the first meeting. Every engagement ends with a record of themes, decisions, and next steps that can be shared back with the people who took part.

Can the arts be part of it?

Yes. Storytelling, arts-based learning, and cultural programming are some of the best ways I know to bring people into a conversation.
